Granular processor

Granny

V1.59

Granny records whatever you feed it and plays it back as a stream of tiny overlapping grains. Set how often they start, how long they last and how fast they play, forward or reversed, up to 10x or three octaves down. Lock Pitch to musical intervals or the time controls to your host’s tempo. Pull the two grain streams apart for wide stereo, then send it all back through the feedback loop and let it bloom into clouds, swells and stutters that don’t sound like where they started.

Four tap delay

Swayplex

V1.31

Swayplex sends your sound through four delay heads, two per side, each swinging back and forth across a window of time. The motion bends pitch like tape heads on a pendulum, and the spacing controls carve it into rhythmic pulses. Lock Master Freq to your tempo and it pumps in time. Spread the taps apart for detuning, width and phasing, then push the feedback until it all starts to sway on its own.

Both plugins

Installing

  1. Download the zip and unzip it. You’ll get a folder called Granny.vst3 or Swayplex.vst3.
  2. Move that whole folder into C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3. Windows will ask for permission.
  3. Open your DAW and rescan your plugins. In Cubase that’s Studio > VST Plug-in Manager.
